Our Founder

CERIAN is headed by Brian Sagi, a San Diego based entrepreneur and technologist. Brian founded Cerian Technology Ventures in 2001 to help stakeholders in technology companies maximize the value of intellectual property assets. Most recently, Brian served as a Vice President of Business Development at ideaEDGE Ventures - a venture capital fund focused on early-stage investments in the wireless Internet. He grew ideaEDGE's portfolio companies by leading them in intermediate executive roles. Brian has founded several high technology companies in the software, communications and wireless industries including, most recently, Unwired Express--a company enabling mobile employees to access vital business information anytime, anywhere. Brian holds an MBA from the University of San Diego and an MSC in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego. He also holds a BSC in Electrical Engineering and a BSC in Computer Science from the Technion. Brian has been invited to discuss technology transactions at forums such as the Licensing Executive Society, American Bankruptcy Institute, San Diego Regional Technology Alliance, Harvey Mudd College, UCSD Athena, and the Strategic Research Institute. He is frequently quoted in the press. Brian serves on the board of the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, as well as on boards of several privately-held technology companies.
